Behind the Mic: NBC Brings Fox-Vet Krista Voda Aboard NASCAR Team; ESPN Retains Ricky Craven, Brad Daugherty

NBC Sports Group has inked Krista Voda to a multi-year agreement to serve as host of NBC Sports’ upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup and XFINITY Series pre- and post-race coverage, beginning in 2015 when NBC’s new rights deal kicks off. Her on-air duties will also include regular appearances as host of NASCAR AMERICA on NBCSN, as well as a range of assignments across NBC Sports and NBC Olympics.

Having covered NASCAR for 14 consecutive years on network television, she is the current host of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pre-race show for Fox Sports, and was the first female to ever host NASCAR’s Daytona Duels, as well as the NASCAR All-Star Race in Charlotte. She recently concluded her eighth season as a pit reporter for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage on Fox and has hosted or co-hosted every NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, many NASCAR Awards Banquets, and several Fox Sports studio shows.  In addition to motorsports, Voda has served an NFL sideline reporting and contributed to coverage of the postseason MLB broadcasts, Bowl Championship Series coverage, Kentucky Derby, NCAA men’s basketball tournament and PGA Championship…

…While is losing one of its top NASCAR faces, ESPN is retaining one as former NASCAR Sprint Cup race winner Ricky Craven has agreed to a new contract and will remain with ESPN as NASCAR analyst for SportsCenter and other ESPN news platforms. Craven, who started with ESPN as an analyst in 2008, will make regular appearances in the ESPN studio around NASCAR Sprint Cup races and to analyze breaking news as warranted. ESPN is in its final year of televising live NASCAR racing. As the 2014 NASCAR season heads toward the finish line, NASCAR fans will see Craven and hear his analysis on SportsCenter on the day before, day of and day after each of the three remaining races in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup…

…Brad Daugherty, a former five-time NBA All-Star and University of North Carolina All-American, will remain with ESPN and serve as an NBA and college basketball analyst beginning in November. Daugherty will appear regularly on NBA Tonight, NBA Coast to Coast, SportsCenter and on additional news and information programming. He will also serve as an analyst for most games in ESPNU’s ACC Sunday night package, in addition to other select games, beginning Dec. 1. Daugherty most recently served as an ESPN NASCAR analyst on NASCAR Countdown, NASCAR Now and across ESPN platforms. He previously covered college basketball as a reporter for ESPN and ABC on ACC telecasts from 1999-2001. SiriusXM has signed famed club pro Bob Ford to host a new show on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio (XM channel 93, Sirius channel 208) that will focus on the highly competitive ranks of amateur golf and showcase some of the best non-professional players in the country. Ford, who is the head professional at two of the most prestigious golf clubs in the country – Oakmont CC outside Pittsburgh and Seminole GC in Juno Beach, FL – will make his debut in January and host monthly throughout the year.  On the show he will interview some of the most successful amateur golfers from around the U.S.…
