CCW 2014: Markertek Unveils Power-Injected Fiber-Optic Blackmagic Flight Pack

Markertek will showcase a new power-injected fiber-optic Blackmagic flight pack at the CCW show this week in New York. The system is ideal for sports venues, live events and similar multi-camera shoots where having power at the camera is a necessity but local AC power is not available.

“This custom system delivers everything you need, including power, to remote cameras up to 300 feet via fiber optic cables,” says Andrew Barth, VP of Sales at Markertek. “It’s a full HD broadcast system built around the Blackmagic ATEM series in conjunction with the Camplex BlackJack camera mount system. Power is sent from the head end over Neutrik opticalCON cables to the BlackJack where power is regulated for the camera.”

The system creates a complete tactical fiber multi-camera end-to-end system and turns any HD or HDMI camera into a fiber optic camera. The system also includes options for talkback, tally, an external mic input at the camera and a program return feed. As a result, users can place cameras in multiple long haul locations and still provide power while keeping the switcher back at the truck.

At CCW Booth #1335, Markertek will offer a first hand look at the flexibility of power injected fiber. Markertek will also showcase additional custom fiber optic solutions and services, including LEMO, Neutrik opticalCON & Canare certified fiber lab, as well as unique solutions from Sescom and Delvcam.
