Learn Multiscreen Tips At NewsTECHForum with ABC, CNN, Scripps Leaders

As traditional news organizations strive to stay nimble in the face of mounting digital competition, the second annual NewsTECHForum will present a panel, Staying Relevant in a Non-Stop, Multiscreen World, on Monday, Dec. 15, at 1:30 p.m.

The panel session, which immediately follows a keynote interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group CEO David Smith, will feature Joe Ruffolo, SVP, ABC News Digital; Rajin Persaud, VP of next-generation business and product strategy, CNN; and Lana Durban Scott, senior director of news strategy and operations, E.W. Scripps Co.

Speakers will address strategies such as using streaming video to enhance the experience of live TV, offering news on-demand and building audience interactivity into the newsgathering process.

“News networks and station groups offer thousands of hours of live TV news each month, yet they face the challenge of tune-out from audiences barraged with news all day long,” says Harry A. Jessell, co-founder and editor of TVNewsCheck. “We are excited to have three established innovators who will be addressing this challenge at NewsTECHForum.”

Set for Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, Dec. 15-16, NewsTECHForum gathers news and technology executives and managers to talk about the challenges they face at the intersection of technology and news storytelling.

NewsTECHForum is presented by TVNewsCheck and Sports Video Group and is co-located, at the New York Hilton, with the annual SVG Summit, where more than 2,000 sports producers and technologists gather with the goal of promoting excellence in sports programming.
