With LongoMatch Acquisition, Fluendo Cements Place in Sports Video
The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Fluendo as a corporate sponsor. Founded in 2004 in Barcelona, the international company enables multimedia and video on a wide variety of devices and operating systems.
Fluendo recently acquired LongoMatch, a crossplatform software tool that lets users perform real-time analysis on sports-video feeds. With LongoMatch, users can record and edit videos with tags and diagrams to produce detailed performance breakdowns and game statistics.
Customizable to any sport and compatible with all software platforms, LongoMatch takes video analysis to the next level for sports-production professionals, athletes, athletic teams, and clubs.
“There has been a rise in demand for video tools with the rise in popularity of all types of sports worldwide,” says Fluendo CEO Muriel Moscardini. “LongoMatch allows fans and professionals to easily analyze, evaluate, and digitally dissect online video feeds of sporting events. We are pleased to join Sports Video Group and work together with industry colleagues to bring our video expertise to the sports-production process.”
LongoMatch is used all over the world by amateur and professional sports teams, including the Belgium national World Cup soccer team and FIBA referees. The soon-to-be launched LongoMatch PRO version has a new, user-friendly design and is compatible with all software platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux). It is fully licensed and compliant with all video formats, included HEVC, and supports live Full HD.
In the next release, videos will be accessible from anywhere using LongoMatch’s cloud storage service and will open access to a wide range of cloud services and community features, such as data import or video sharing. LongoMatch was nominated as one of the 10 best sports analysis systems in the world in the 2013 Performance Video Analysis Software Guide.
In addition, Fluendo employs several of the central developers of GStreamer, an Open Source framework that is quickly establishing itself as the de facto standard multimedia framework for crossplatform software. Fluendo provides a wide range of products besides GStreamer, including proprietary codecs (with their respective patent licenses), a streaming server, and the Fluendo DVD Player.
