ACC, Raycom Sports Launch New Gameday App For Football Championship

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Raycom Sports launched the official ACC Championship App for the 2014 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Developed in partnership with SportsLabs, the free mobile application is an in-depth event resource for fans in town for the game or watching from home.

Raycom_Sports_logoThe ACC Championship App consists of a variety of extensive content designed to enhance the game-day experience by delivering:

  • Event weekend guide with activity times and locations, and other need-to-know information including stadium maps and parking
  • Live game audio from ESPN Radio broadcast
  • Information on the ACC Legends Class of 2014
  • Live game score and stats
  • Real-time social stream with Instagram and Twitter feeds from the teams, media, and the ACC
  • Location based maps for fans attending the events
  • Alerts for weather updates, pre-game events, game scoring and more

The Official ACC Gameday App can be found as a free download in both the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.

Raycom Sports Receives Nine Midsouth Regional Emmy Nominations
Raycom Sports was nominated for nine Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards, it was announced by the Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The awards will be announced on January 31, 2015 in Nashville.

The summer weekly series “Havoline Football Saturdays” was nominated for the seventh straight year. It has won five Emmy Awards. Raycom also received four nominations in the Sports Program Feature category.

In addition, Raycom was nominated in the categories of Sports Event/Game for ACC Basketball UNC at NCSU, Documentary/Topical for “Head Impact Research in ACC,” Director/Short Form for “ACC Tournament Open,” and Promo Spot/Sports for “Duke-UNC Basketball Open.

Producers Dave Barringer and Jeremy Williams and Associate Producers Maxwell Brooke and Richard Brookeeach received four nominations, Producer Alex Farmartino received three nominations, Executive Producer Rob Reichley and Associate Producer Chris Duzan received two nominations, and Director Billy McCoy, host Cory Alexander, Boris Rogers and John Hairston received one nomination.
