Burst Partners With Denver Media Services Migrate to High Definition

System integrator Burst is working with the City and County of Denver to install new systems and upgrade existing systems to migrate Denver Media Services (DMS) production and broadcast facilities from Standard Definition to High Definition (HD).
Burst_WPBurst is providing research, design, procurement, installation, testing and training for the project, which includes upgrading production control rooms, edit suites and master control rooms.  When the project is complete, all City and County of Denver media operations will be HD-SDI.

The goal of the project is to integrate all facilities so that DMS’s new production control room is the central point of signal termination for all signals coming from remote facilities within the Downtown City Campus, which incorporates the City and County Building, Wellington Webb Building McNichols Building, the Crime Lab, the Justice Center the Detention Center and the flight packs which operate as portable, self-contained production units.

The project also includes upgrading the master control room for Channel 58, which provides City information and services, including hourly announcements on City services, activities and events It also includes a display of the City of Denver’s traffic cameras. The new system will be able to play back graphics pages as well as video files and will integrate into the HD-SDI router.

Additionally, Burst will ensure the edit bay systems and associated equipment are fully functional and integrated into the DMS technical operations structure.

This project is scheduled for completion by the end of April, 2015.
