Daktronics Bringing Big Video Experience to Events at UCLA’s Drake Stadium

Daktronics will continue its 24-year relationship with University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) by installing a new LED video display for Drake Stadium. The installation, due for completion in early 2015, will enhance the experience of fans and athletes at track and field meets, soccer matches and special events held at the facility.

DaktronicsThe display will measure approximately 16 feet high by 27 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout to provide excellent image clarity and contrast at wide viewing angles. It features variable content zoning which allows for showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be separated into multiple zones to show any combination of scoring and statistical information, event results, graphics and animations, and sponsor messaging.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to extend our partnership with UCLA and to provide a video solution for Drake Stadium,” says Robin Hall, Daktronics region manager. “The display at track will enhance the meet experience for athletes, coaches and fans. It will be exciting to see this installation completed on their campus.”

Included in the installation, UCLA will receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content that can be shown on the display during track events. Daktronics Creative in house team will produce and deliver the desired content at the university’s request.
