Daktronics Provides Upgrade for USAFA Cadet Gymnasium

Daktronics has partnered with the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) to provide a new LED video display inside Cadet Gymnasium in U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. The installation took place in late 2014.

DaktronicsThe new display will measure approximately 12 feet high by 19 feet wide and employ 10 millimeter line spacing. The display features versatile content zoning which allows it to show one large image across the entire display to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be separated into multiple zones to show any combination of scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, advertising and sponsor content, and other relevant messaging information.

“We’re excited to provide this video display for USAFA athletics and gymnastics events at Cadet Gymnasium,” says Mark Johnson, Daktronics sales representative. “The opportunity to improve the experience of athletes and their supporters is something we’re proud of at Daktronics, and this installation will provide another level of entertainment that wasn’t previously available at these events. We look forward to the project’s completion and for the display to start having an immediate impact.”

Fairfield University Partners with Daktronics to Upgrade and Add Excitement to Athletic Facilities

Fairfield University’s Lessing Field and new Rafferty Stadium received new LED video display equipment and a custom sound system designed and manufactured by Daktronics. The new additions to each facility will help enhance the game-day experience for fans and players.

“The Daktronics team worked closely with Fairfield University on the development and implementation of both the video scoreboards and the sound system over the last year,” says Curt A. Krushinsky, architect, Fairfield University director of campus planning and design. “Daktronics was always available to respond to questions and to offer different options that would meet our needs and budget. Fairfield University Athletics and the University as a whole look forward to the use of the Daktronics products and the enhanced game day experience that they provide.”

Rafferty Stadium will replace Alumni Field as the new lacrosse stadium. The new facility received an LED video display that measures approximately 15.5 feet high by 27.5 feet wide and feature a 15HD pixel layout.

Lessing Field, home to Fairfield’s men’s and women’s soccer teams, also received an LED video display that measures approximately 15.5 feet high by 27.5 feet wide and also features a 15HD pixel layout.

Both of these displays feature advanced zoning capabilities that can feature full screen content to highlight live video and instant replays, but can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

“We are excited to partner with Fairfield University and be able to provide them new video display technology for Rafferty Stadium and Lessing Field,” says Dave D’Amico, Daktronics Sales Representative. “These new displays will upgrade the game-day experience for all Stags fans. We look forward to seeing these systems in action.”

Rafferty Stadium also received a custom audio system, which is integrated with the video and scoring system. The audio system provides full-range sound reproduction and delivers clear and intelligible speech. Daktronics audio offers high quality audio systems that can integrate with dynamic displays in indoor and outdoor sport venues.

Both facilities received a standard multisport scoreboard. These scoreboards will provide fans up-to-the-minute statistics and scoring information, keeping them informed during the game.
