Burst Named Winner of EVS’ First C-Cast APPlied Challenge
Burst was named a winner in EVS’ first ever C-Cast APPlied Challenge. EVS recognized Burst for developing a second-screen experience that uses EVS’ C-Cast content distribution platform to reinvent live event media consumption. Fans can capture authentic video and seamlessly send their content directly to broadcast TV, digital sites, social media channels and in-venue screens in near real-time.
The Burst platform solves unique challenges broadcasters face in using mobile video, including the collection, management, integration and distribution of user generated content. Burst provides a framework and process for audiences to quickly capture and upload their authentic videos directly to a media company without requiring the fan/consumer to download a mobile app to participate. Through an integration with EVS that was announced in 2014, the joint Burst and EVS solution enables the broadcasters to better engage with their increasingly mobile audience.
“EVS is at the forefront of the next generation of broadcast, and it is a distinct privilege to be recognized by their organization as a key innovation partner,” says Bryant McBride, CEO of Burst. “Within the evolving television landscape, our joint solution builds the ultimate bridge to connect mobile video and broadcast TV, and we’re looking forward to a sustained partnership in the months and years to come.”
C-Cast connects on-site TV production infrastructure to a cloud-based platform, enabling content owners to aggregate, enrich or instantly deliver content to consumers. The contest is the first step toward the development of a new partnership ecosystem that will connect live broadcast and media specialists (broadcasters, content owners, producers) to an innovative community of C-Cast application designers and integrators for opening new business perspectives and extending media offerings.
“We were thrilled with the number of applicants for our first ever C-Cast APPlied Challenge contest, and were overwhelmed by the number of innovative organizations that enhance the second screen experience,” says Cedric Tombeur, VP of corporate development & strategic alliances for EVS. “We selected Burst for its ability to provide our joint customers with additional features and functionality, as well as for the app’s engaging and interactive audience experience.”
