UK buyer sought for John Logie Baird archive [audio]
Story Highlights
BBC.com reports that a unique archive relating to the Scottish inventor of television John Logie Baird’s first transatlantic broadcasts could be about to leave the UK.
Culture Minister Ed Vaizey has placed a temporary export bar on the items in the hope that a UK buyer can be found to match the asking price of almost £78,750.
The archive includes log books and other records relating to Logie Baird’s transmission of TV pictures from his home in London to the east coast of the USA in the mid 1920s.
