Comrex LiveShot Provides Versatile Video-Over-IP Uplink Solution
The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Comrex as a corporate sponsor. Comrex LiveShot delivers high-quality, low-latency video and audio over a range of IP networks to allow broadcast-quality live media streaming from anywhere Internet access is available.
“Comrex is glad to be joining the sports-production community of SVG,” says Director of Sales Chris Crump. “We’re excited to engage in conversation with other members and to learn more about what challenges we all face as this industry continues to evolve in the future.”
Weighing only 3 lb., Comrex LiveShot is designed for versatile use. With return video, two IFB returns, and cue-channel audio, LiveShot fulfills broadcasters’ needs in the field under a multitude of circumstances. LiveShot features CrossLock VPN technology, which provides a secure network layer for data transmission with superior error correction, bonding, and redundancy modes for ultimate reliability.
Compatible with most professional and prosumer cameras, LiveShot integrates easily with existing hardware infrastructure. Designed to slip behind a camera battery, it can also be mounted in a truck, carried in a backpack, or carried in a belt-mounted pouch, depending on user preference. LiveShot can be managed in the field with a user-friendly smartphone app that enables users to monitor network connections and adjust settings.
Comrex LiveShot is currently in use by the Detroit Lions as part of their regular pre/postgame-show production. Additionally, LiveShot has also been used by Fox Deportes to receive onsite return video during the UEFA Champions League live from Berlin, by Time Warner Cable/El Segundo for Dodgers Baseball pre/postgame coverage, and by the city of Bakersfield, CA, to deliver video to the videoboard in Rabobank Arena.
