SVG Venue Production Seminar Travels to Jacksonville on Nov. 4

On Wednesday, November 4, SVG continues its regional series of Venue Initiative events with an afternoon at EverBank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. Formerly the SVG Venue@ series, the rebranded SVG Venue Production Seminar will provide attendees with an intimate look at one of the NFL’s most impressive technological upgrades, an in-depth exploration of “beyond HD” workflows from the producer and vendor perspectives, and plenty of one-on-one networking opportunities with local teams.

Agenda

12:30 – 1:00 p.m. Registration

1:00 – 1:30 p.m. Welcome Presentation from the Jacksonville Jaguars
Prior to the 2014 NFL season, the Jacksonville Jaguars unveiled a $63 million upgrade that called for the largest end-zone videoboards in the NFL, more total video square footage than in any stadium in the league, and a completely revamped video-control room to handle it all. Hear from the Jaguars’ video-production team about how the upgrades have affected game-day presentation and fan experience.

1:30 – 2:15 p.m. Beyond HD Master Class: Production Philosophies
Sports venues, unhindered by the same distribution obstacles as broadcasters, continue to push towards higher resolutions at all points in the video workflow. But making the leap from SD and HD to 4K and even 8K can be a daunting experience. How have production philosophies adapted to greater-than-HD technologies and, more importantly, ever-growing videoboards?

2:15 – 2:45 p.m. Case Study: ‘Daytona Rising’
Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR’s flagship venue, is currently in the midst of a $400 million facelift. Known as Daytona Rising, the redevelopment will aim to match the in-venue experience fans have come to expect from professional sports, including HD video, WiFi connectivity, high-end concessions, and more.

2:45 – 3:15 p.m. Networking Break

3:15 – 4:00 p.m. Local Teams Round Table
The Southeast boasts an abundance of professional and collegiate sports venues looking to enhance the in-game experience through video and get more fans in the stands. Local teams discuss recent video-production upgrades, their game-day workflows, and how they strive to put on the best show possible.

4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Beyond HD Technology Briefing: Vendor Perspectives
To push high-resolution content for 4K and 8K videoboards, sports venues are increasingly turning to broadcast gear to outfit 4K-capable control rooms. Hear from the technology vendors on what it takes to capture, record, playback, and archive greater-than-HD content.

4:45 – 6:00 p.m. Tour of EverBank Field

6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Networking Reception
