Elemental to Host Webcast on Launching Cloud-based DVR Services

Elemental Technologies will host a webcast entitled “Extending Video Infrastructure to Launch Cloud-Based DVR Services” on October 27 at 11 a.m. ET. The webcast will detail how video providers can overcome operational and technical challenges in extending DVR services and functionality to the cloud, and includes a demonstration highlighting the integration of new services within an existing video workflow and established content delivery infrastructure.

With the advent of DVRs more than a decade ago, TV operators introduced the notion of time-shifted video enabled by set-top boxes. Since that time, DVR devices have attracted new subscribers and contributed to increases in overall video consumption. Now, cloud-based DVR services aresupplanting STBs and are key to capturing end users seeking access to time-shifted TV services on any device, anywhere and at any time.
