JVC Announces Lower Pricing, Rebate on 4KCAM Line

JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, announced lower pricing and a $500 instant rebate on its 4KCAM camera line. The company also demonstrated a new slow-motion recording feature for its GY-HM200 and GY-HM170 camcorders during PhotoPlus Expo (Booth 1101), which ran Oct. 22-24, 2015, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Effective immediately, the MSRP for the GY-HM200 has been dropped by $500 to $2,495. Combined with the $500 instant rebate, JVC’s most affordable streaming camcorder is now available for less than $2,000. The MSRP for the GY-HM170 has also been reduced to $1,995, and the camera now ships with a handle unit featuring dual XLR audio inputs (a $329 value) and a free shotgun microphone for no additional charge. With the $500 instant rebate, it is available for less than $1,500. The GY-LS300, the flagship camcorder of the 4KCAM product line with a Super 35 image sensor, will cost less than $3,900 after rebate.

The new slow motion mode for the GY-HM200 and GY-HM170 records HD footage at up to 120 frames per second. It will be available for both cameras via a free firmware upgrade in December. Demo footage of the new slo-mo functionality is available on the GY-HM200 product Web page.

“With our new pricing and rebate program, JVC is making professional 4K more affordable than ever,” says Craig Yanagi, product marketing manager. “These new prices will open 4K production to even more filmmakers and digital video producers, and our new slo-mo feature will give them even more creative options for both motion and still images.”

The $500 instant rebate is valid only on new GY-LS300, GY-HM200, and GY-HM170 camera purchases through March 31, 2016. Customers must reside in the United States or Puerto Rico and purchase the camcorder from an authorized JVC Professional Video Products dealer.
