CAPER 2015: TVU Networks Showcases Video-Over-IP Solutions

TVU Networks is showcasing its popular video-over-IP solutions at the CAPER show at Centro Costa Salguero, October 28-30, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. TVU Networks is exhibiting within the booth of its Argentinian reseller, Viditec, (#H.28) during the expo.

“Broadcasters in Latin America have embraced our systems’ and their ability to dependably deliver live HD video in the most difficult environments,” says John Hall, Director of Channel Partner Program and Global Rentals, TVU Networks. “We have some of our most active clientele in this part of the world. We’re extremely excited to connect with them at CAPER, demonstrate our most recent advances and meet prospective, new customers.”

On TVU’s CAPER stand is the TVU One mobile IP newsgathering transmitter and the company’s flagship TVUPack TM8200 mobile uplink backpack transmitter. Introduced at NAB this April, TVU One is now in production and currently shipping in large quantity.

TVU One features the same proprietary Inverse StatMux Plus (IS+) technology, designed to deliver a live HD-quality picture with sub-second latency, as other popular TVU solutions, such as the MLink fixed rack IP-based video transmitter and TVUPack mobile uplink backpack transmitter. Inverse StatMux Plus enables the transmission of dependable HD quality video with less than one second latency through multiple transmission mediums including cellular, satellite, microwave, MIMO Mesh, WiFi, Ethernet, and BGAN – even in the most bandwidth challenged environments including a moving vehicle.

TVU One is the company’s fifth-generation live mobile IP newsgathering transmitter. It delivers the same transmission resiliency, performance, picture quality and sub-second latency of a full-size backpack transmitter in a substantially smaller and lighter form factor. TVU One features TVU Networks’ patented Inverse Statmux Plus (IS+) transmission algorithm, Smart VBR technology, and the TVU.264 video codec. It’s available with embedded modems and can transmit simultaneously over multiple mediums, including cellular, microwave, MIMO microwave mesh, Ka-band and Ku-band satellite, BGAN, WiFi, and Ethernet.

The TVUPack TM8200 mobile uplink backpack transmitter combines TVU’s proprietary IS+ advanced Forward Error Correction algorithm with the TVU264 H.264 encoding engine, to enable users to maximize the bandwidth available in each network connection and transmit the most stable picture possible. It supports multiple 3G/4G LTE, microwave, satellite, WiFi and BGAN data connections. The TM8200 is also available in two alternative versions with integrated Vislink hybrid microwave and MIMO Mesh microwave.

TVU Networks provides a full portfolio of video-over-IP solutions designed to give broadcasters innovative, flexible and reliable tools to acquire live video content from anywhere and distribute it to anywhere.

Among the company’s recent innovations is the TVU Grid – a scalable IP-based video switching, routing and distribution solution that enables broadcasters to acquire live video from different sources and distribute it to other news stations. Accessible through a web browser, TVUGrid provides the ability to seamlessly switch live, professional-quality video streams with as low as sub-second delay over IP networks to one or more Grid-enabled news stations anywhere in the world as the news is happening. TVU Grid is also compatible with the TVU Booking Service for simple and automated scheduling of live video feeds.

Other products in the TVU line up include: the MLink cellular 3G/4G LTE, satellite and microwave live video uplink transmitter; TVU Anywhere – an application that turns laptops and smart devices into transmitters; and TVUMe, an online marketplace for broadcasters to find and purchase live or recorded video content online from other broadcasters, freelancers and independent production crews from around the world.

Already in use by hundreds of leading broadcast organizations around the world, the TVU Networks family of IP transmission solutions gives broadcasters and organizations a powerful and reliable tool to distribute live video content to broadcast, online and mobile platforms. The TVU Networks suite of solutions has been used to deliver professional-quality live HD footage of a number of important events around the world including the World Cup, both Summer and Winter Olympic Games, U.S. presidential elections, natural disasters, the 2013 Papal conclave, the Super Bowl, the 2015 Papal visit to the United States and several international sporting events.
