Calgary Flames Entrust Daktronics For New Centerhung Scoreboard at Scotiabank Saddledome

The Calgary Flames have partnered with Daktronics on a new LED centerhung configuration above center ice inside Scotiabank Saddledome. A new 360-degree fascia display will also be added to the arena this fall prior to the start of the 2015-16 hockey season.

The centerhung configuration is combination of 14 video displays. Four main displays will each measure approximately 9 feet high by 16.5 feet wide and will feature 10 millimeter line spacing. Above the main displays, eight displays will each measure approximately 8 feet high by 10.5 feet wide and will feature 15 millimeter line spacing.

These displays feature variable content zoning which allows them to show one large image or to be divided into windows to show any variety of live video, instant replays, statistics and scoring information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages. They will provide crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility for a great view from any seat in the arena.

At the top of the configuration, a ring display will measure roughly 2 feet high by 127 feet in circumference. At the bottom of the configuration, a ring display will measure roughly 2 feet high by 82 feet in circumference. These displays will both feature 20 millimeter line spacing and be able to highlight sponsors throughout events while also providing additional graphics and statistics.

Along with the centerhung, a 360-degree ribbon display will be installed on the seating fascia round the arena measuring approximately 2.5 feet high by 753 feet wide and featuring 15 millimeter line spacing. Similar to the ring displays, this display can show additional statistics, graphics, sponsorship messages and ambiance to supplement the main displays helping to create a complete fan experience.
