The SVG College Initiative returns to the SVG Summit (Dec. 14-15, New York Hilton Midtown) this year with a Day 1 workshop offering informative presentations and discussions addressing the robust college sports video production industry. This year’s program will address key topics including the role of instant replay and the impact of closed captioning laws.

The FCC has declared it law that closed captioning be included in all online video, which offers a new set of challenging for the college sports video production community. What does the law require of you? What are some best practices for efficient execution?

The Art of the Replay and Its Impact In The Broadcast on the Field
Replay has grown from more than just a way to relive exciting plays in the presentation of a sporting event. Now its critical to the outcome of the game. How are new replay workflows having an impact on productions? Who is responsible for the technology and the execution and how are schools and conferences planning its execution?

NOTE: SVG College attendees are strongly encouraged to join us for related afternoon workshop sessions that feature presentations and conversations critical to their jobs. For those looking to go deeper on storage and the protection and utilization of content, attend the Asset Management Workshop from 1-4:30 p.m. in Gramercy A on the second floor. Attendees can also learn more about specific venue –related topics in the Venue Production Workshop from 1-3:30 p.m. in the Morgan Room, also on the second floor.
