SVG Summit: Sports Asset Mgmt & Storage Workshop To Feature Open Q&A With Top MAM Execs

The Sports Asset Management & Storage (SAMS) Workshop will once again provide a deeper dive into many of the most pressing issues facing the sports-production industry today. Held in the Gramercy Suite East on Day 1 of the SVG Summit (Dec. 14) from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., the SAMS Workshop aims to get into the trenches regarding specific issues faced by SVG members and sponsors today and expound upon topics raised at July’s SAMS Forum. This year, all SVG Summit attendees are encouraged to attend the SAMS Workshop closing session (4:00 – 4:45 p.m.) “SAMS Parting Shots: 2015 Headlines and Open Q&A With Top MAM Execs” – in which SAMS Committee members will address the biggest storylines from 2015 and answer your most pressing MAM and storage queries in a no-holds-barred town-hall meeting style.

In addition to SAMS Parting Shots, this year’s Workshop will address a variety of topics, including computer vision tools to automate metadata assignment, the impact of big data, challenges in storing 4K/8K/HDR content, mitigating doomsday scenarios and disaster recovery, and new tiering strategies from nearline to deep archive, as well as a pair of case studies highlighting MAM workflows at the Golf Channel and MLB Network.
