Golden 1 Center, slated to open in October, will feature a 6,100-sq.-ft. 4K/Ultra HD center-hung videoboard.

Totaling more than 6,100 sq. ft., the videoboard will feature the largest screens in the league and is more than seven times larger than the KingsVision in the team’s current home, Sleep Train Arena. The four-screen display will include two sideline screens that are more than five times larger than the screens currently in use. Deploying the latest in LED technology, with more than 32 million pixels across the four screens, it will offer fans crystal-clear views from anywhere in the arena, along with immediate replays in 4K/UHD, four times 1080 HD resolution. Spanning nearly baseline to baseline, the 84-ft.-long videoboard will be longer than the average 18-wheeler. The ribbon featured atop the videoboard will be 6 ft. 3 in., and the main screens will be more than 44 ft. wide and more than 24 ft. tall.

“Our partnership with Panasonic will revolutionize how fans consume the game, giving them an unmatched viewing experience from the moment they walk into Golden 1 Center,” says Kings Owner/Chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “We are proud to deliver the world’s latest technology and provide a transformative experience to the best fans in the NBA.”

Says Panasonic Enterprise Solutions President Jim Doyle, “We are thrilled to be the official display-technologies partner of the Sacramento Kings. There are endless possibilities to help enhance the guest experience throughout the arena, and we look forward to delivering the most cutting-edge technology to impress and amaze all who enter Golden 1 Center.”

Panasonic products will be integrated throughout the arena to enrich the fan experience with the latest interactive-display technologies.

  • Two custom LED screens, standing more than 25 ft. tall, will welcome fans entering through the arena’s main doors, featuring fan-generated content, event information, and more.
  • 600-plus HD video displays will be showcased throughout Golden 1 Center concourses, clubs, and suites so that fans don’t miss a second of the action on the court.
  • More than 1,500 ft. of LED ribbon boards in the arena bowl will provide real-time information, including advanced statistics and aggregated social-media content.

This Legacy Partnership, including the state-of-the-art videoboard, reflects Ranadivé’s “NBA 3.0” philosophy, which calls for providing cutting-edge technology to enhance the fan experience. Recently, the team released a report detailing how Golden 1 Center will be the fastest, most connected indoor sports and entertainment venue in the world, — creating a seamless, frictionless, and intuitive experience for fans.
