ISE 2016: Canon Europe Launches New Projectors

Canon Europe, the world-leader in imaging solutions, has launched six new projectors, including the XEED WUX6010, LX-MU700, PR100, and PR1000. The XEED WUX6010 is the latest addition to its installation projector range and an upgraded version of the flagship XEED WUX6000 model. The other five projectors, including its brightest model ever – the LX-Mu700 – and two new professional presenters– the PR100 and PR10000 – add to Cannon’s LV range. All of these new models are designed to meet the varying requirements of customers and integrators, particularly within the business and education environments, thanks to improved connectivity, high brightness and flexible installation capabilities.

With the addition of HDBaseT, a new standard for connectivity, the XEED WUX6010 allows for the transmission of HD media, audio, and control signals over long distances via a single LAN cable. The LAN cable can span up to 100 meters, greatly improving convenience in system configuration and supporting information sharing.

The XEED WUX6010 is also compatible with five different projection lenses–a short fixed lens, wide zoom lens, standard zoom lens, long zoom lens and an ultra-long zoom lens. All five lenses use the same connector as the XEED WUX4000, WUX5000 and WUX6000, making them cross-compatible with existing devices from this range. This offers system integrators and customers enhanced flexibility during installation. In addition, a separate model incorporating a DICOM1  simulation mode is available, designed specifically for medical purposes. This allows for the display of black and white gradation which is required for use in medical scenarios.

The XEED WUX6010 is supported by Canon’s 3 Year Lamp Warranty, which effectively eliminates the cost of replacement lamps for a three year period from new. It also qualifies for Canon’s 3 Year Enhanced Warranty Loan Service offering customers next day loans while their projector is being serviced.

The XEED WUX6010 became available in January 2016.

Canon’s Brightest Dual Lamp Projector

The LX-MU70 is Canon’s brightest WUXGA installation projector to date, offering 7,500 lumens when both lamps are in use – ideal for environments such as large auditoriums where there are high levels of ambient light. In addition, dual lamp functionality offers higher levels of reliability as if one lamp fails, the projector can continue to operate in single lamp mode.

The LX-MU70 also supports seven interchangeable lenses–ranging from short fixed to ultra-long–enabling integrators to choose the lens best suited to the projection distance and environment. This allows for better accuracy and installation flexibility. The device is supported by two, six-color wheels optimized for brightness or color, making it ideal for installations where the use of video content or computer graphics is required. For ease-of-use, the LX-MU70 also allows ten sets of focus, zoom, and lens position settings to be stored.

Improved Connectivity

The latest LX models support HDBaseT, a new standard for connectivity, allowing for the transmission of HD media, audio, and control signals over long distances via a single LAN cable. The LAN cable can span up to 100 meters, greatly improving convenience in system configuration and supporting information sharing. Two of the new models, the LV-WX310ST and LV-X310ST, also have MHL capabilities allowing users to project images from compatible tablets or smartphones via the HDMI port. This is ideal for enhancing engagement in presentation scenarios – whether in the classroom or in the boardroom.

“The projectors we’re launching demonstrate our commitment to serving the varying needs of our end-users and integrators, ” says Colin Boyle, European Product Marketing Specialist, Canon Europe. These latest models address a growing demand in the market for installations with high brightness and improved connectivity, as customers look to use projectors in more innovative ways, for example, for medical training purposes in hospitals or to view 3D content. These latest innovations also allow system integrators more flexibility in system configuration.”

Professional Presenters

The PR100-RC is Canon’s top professional presenter designed to suit any presentation need thanks to a bright LCD display and strong laser strength. A large operating range means the presenter can be 15 meters away from the PC to allow for effortless mobility.

The ‘Smart Timer’ function also allows the presenter to track time and set a countdown, which alerts the presenter with a series of vibrations. The presenter has the option of several timer settings, including half way, five minutes, and one minute remaining. One, two, and three vibrations respectively signal this.

The PR 100-RC also supports a wide variety of presentation software including PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, Keynote, and Preview. Set up is also quick and easy – simply insert the USB into the PC and it connects seamlessly with iOS and Windows1 devices. With the ‘Smart Presentation’ function, a touch of a button allows you to switch to a black screen to divert audience attention onto the speaker.

The PR 100-RC also boasts an ergonomic design thanks to its curved shape that fits easily in the hand, easy to reach control buttons, and an easy to store USB socket.
