FC Bayern Munich, ONE World Sports Extend North American Rights Deal

FC Bayern Munich, one of the biggest and most valuable clubs in world soccer, and ONE World Sports, America’s Network for Global Sports, announced a multi-year extension of the network’s exclusive North American carriage of FC Bayern’s international magazine show, including matches, highlights, and interviews.

FC Bayern is a five-time winner of the UEFA Champions League and has won the German Bundesliga title a record 25 times. FC Bayern Munich is currently leading the Bundesliga winning 17 of its first 19 matches.

FC Bayern’s international magazine show consists of 90 minutes of replays of full-length matches and 90 minutes of exclusive player interviews, behind-the-scenes segments, pre- and post-match press conferences and friendly matches. It’s the only show to include coverage of every FC Bayern match played in the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, and German Football Association DFB Cup competitions. Its cameras have access to the players and coaching staff at the Allianz Arena and the training ground.

“As we continue building our fan base in the U.S., renewing our partnership with ONE World Sports gives us access to a large audience of passionate American soccer fans,” says Executive Board Member of Internationalization and Strategy of FC Bayern Munich, Joerg Wacker. “Bringing our story and the club closer to our fans will ultimately fuel greater excitement, participation, and growth of the club and sport in the States.”

“We are thrilled to extend our relationship with FC Bayern Munich, one of the most popular brands in all of sports,” says Alexander “Sandy” Brown, President and CEO, ONE World Sports. “The allure of sports, especially global sports, is not only about the wins and losses but learning about the personalities on the pitch and what drives their passion to compete, which is exactly the content our collaboration provides our audience.”

Most recently, ONE World Sports partnered with FC Bayern Munich for a Soctober promotion where fans entered to win a trip to Germany to see the club compete live. Fulfillment of the Soctober promotion will take place this April as the club hosts Schalke 04 at storied Allianz Arena.
