Jack McKeown Replaces Fergal Ringrose as Editor of The IBC Daily

After 14 years in the chair, Fergal Ringrose is stepping down as Editor of The IBC Daily to be replaced by NewBay Media Content Director and TVBEurope Editor-in-Chief James McKeown in 2016. Ringrose took on the role in 2002 and has helped guide The IBC Daily through the years to its current position as a consistently excellent publication and central part of the IBC experience for visitors.

“The words ‘honor’ and ‘privilege’ really apply here,” says Ringrose, who also serves as Executive Editor of SVG Europe. “It’s been an honor and privilege to lead a great IBC Daily team and to see our profile increase over the years. It still gives me a kick to see delegates picking up their copy first thing in the morning or sitting reading the Daily with coffee in hand around the halls of the RAI!

“However in this media business there always comes a time for change and I have now made the decision to step down,” says Ringrose. “James is a great editor and has gained tremendous industry knowledge in his stewardship of TVB Europe: I am fully confident he will now take the team on to the next level for 2016.”

NewBay Media Europe Managing Director Mark Burton says, “Under Fergal’s leadership The IBC Daily has grown in stature and reputation to become ‘the voice’ of IBC. Each day it holds up a mirror to the huge range of debate, innovation and business discussion going on around the show. The Daily is valued by all stakeholders at IBC and Fergal has played a major role in making that happen. We are sad to see him step down – but of course we’re excited also to head into a new era for The IBC Daily under the editorship of James McKeown.”
