SVG Rocky Mountain Meet-Up Highlights Denver Broncos Control Room, Unites Colorado Community

The Sports Video Group held its second SVG Rocky Mountain Meet-Up in Denver on Tuesday, drawing more than 40 sports-video professionals to Stoney’s Bar and Grill for a night of discussion and networking that also featured a virtual tour of the Denver Broncos’ control room at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Attendees included representatives from the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (owner of the Altitude, Nuggets, Avalanche, Rapids, Pepsi Center, and other Denver-based sports properties), ROOT Sports/AT&T Sports Networks, STARZ, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado, Level 3 Communications, Mobile TV Group, SAM, Sony. They were treated to a virtual video tour (enabled by LiveU transmission) of the Denver Broncos control room led by the team’s Director of Technical and Broadcast Operations Pat Jordan (at Sports Authority Field at Mile High) and Senior Director of Event Presentation and Production Mike Bonner (at Stoney’s Bar and Grill).

Chaired by Dave Zur, GM, Network Operations Center/SVP, Ops & Engineering, KSE Media Ventures, the SVG Rocky Mountain effort is aimed at bringing together one of the industry’s fastest-growing markets, the Denver/Boulder metro area, by fostering communication, education, and networking among the regions’ broadcasters, pro franchises, universities, and technology vendors.
