National Collegiate Sports Archive Selects Crawford Media Services for Migration and Archival Solutions

National Collegiate Sports Archive (NCSA) recently selected Crawford Media Services to provide archival storage and asset management solutions in support of their media hub and legacy sports media collections. Once digitized by Crawford, the media collections will provide the backbone for a series of mobile applications developed by NCSA.

Their expertise in asset management and video conversion is well-documented,” said Jody Smith, Chief Technology Officer of NCSA. “They understood our end goal and knew how to get us there. They’re team went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied with the results.”
As part of the project, NCSA needed an archival storage and asset management supports system for their vast legacy sports media collections. Crawford’s history with preserving history, paired with the ability to package the industry-leading Crawford Engage asset management platform, made it an ideal pairing for both parties. Incorporating the digital assets with NCSA’s mobile application development was seamless with the integration of the Engage platform. Crawford’s migration team catalogued the digital files into the web-based Engage, making it easy for the NCSA to find and access all the various elements of their library.

The newfound organization and availability of the resources made it easy for NCSA to transition the assets into application-based content libraries. The apps provide fans with hours and hours of never before seen game films, interviews, and documentary short films featuring former coaches and players. Currently available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play are the NCSA vaults: The UGA Vault, The Florida Vault and The Auburn Vault.
