Lawo Offers Budget Crosspoint Switching With VSM SNAP

In its VSM, Lawo offers OB vans, studios, and complete broadcast facilities the most sophisticated and powerful control system to date. Now, customers’ demands for a somewhat smaller “crosspoint switching only” solution are answered by Lawo’s VSM SNAP – a budget-friendly control tool that offers just the basic functionality on an LBP push-button panel.

VSMSnapVSM SNAP is available for a selection of LBP push-button panels to control third-party gear directly and without requiring a VSM server. And while VSM SNAP directly addresses small matrix applications, it can also be used as a backup router control solution for a VSM system.

VSM SNAP requires regular LBP push-button panels extended with a memory module and specific software. In this combination, an LBP panel can natively talk router control protocols, and provides processing for simple router control logic without the need for a VSM server. The panels come in sizes ranging from 17 to 51 buttons as 19” and desktop models.

VSM SNAP functionality is focused on crosspoint control in a video router using the most common protocols on the market. Specific VSM SNAP software (available via download) is supplied to configure the panel as required.

It is possible to run multiple VSM SNAP panels within the same network and connect them to the same third-party device. For control, VSM SNAP supports all of the most common control protocols natively, e.g. Leitch, Pro-Bel SW-P-08, and nVision.

VSM SNAP is currently available for six types of panel:

–           LBP 51 SNAP
–           LBP 34 SNAP
–           LBP 17 SNAP
–           LBP 32 DT SNAP
–           LBP 24 SNAP
–           LBP 8 SNAP

VSM SNAP panels can be ordered directly from Lawo, and are delivered individually pre-configured to a customer’s needs.
