Scale Logic Adds Ray Thompson as VP of Business Development

Scale Logic has hired Ray Thompson as Vice President of Business Development. Thompson brings over 25 years of experience in media and entertainment, sports, and 3D gaming to his new position.

Screen Shot 2016-07-12 at 2.28.29 PMThompson has spent the past three years at Zixi driving business development and Product Marketing, as well as designing end to end streaming offerings for contribution, distribution, and OTT for broadcast, sports/news, and media organizations.

He was instrumental in developing workflows for Live Events and Live Linear television delivered over IP: including development of a backend database for OTT and PPV for live events.

Prior to Zixi, Thompson was the co-founder of AvidSports, a company focused on networked editing solutions for use by college and pro teams and broadcasters which was built up and sold. Ray also spent 6 years at XOS Digital in a business development role driving revenue, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and product management.

He has a strong storage background (EMC and HP) and was the worldwide program manager for HP’s media and entertainment strategy for what is now HP enterprise (storage, servers, networking, tape). Ray has developed 3D graphics chips for ATI (now AMD) from a product management perspective and was also responsible for the management and business development for all game ISVs and OEM relationship management for the top OEMs (HP, Dell, Gateway, etc.).

Thompson joined Scale logic’s executive team in June and will be focused on business development for global channel and key OEM accounts. SLI was founded by a team of big data storage, networking, and technical executives to fill the gap left by other vendors between do-it-yourself storage and expensive enterprise storage systems. Ray’s experience will compliment our drive for continued growth in our software and hardware platforms by providing a new level of expertise throughout our current markets.

“We are confident that Ray will be a valuable resource.” said Bob Herzan, CEO of SLI. “He will also establish new and enhanced relationships with our OEM and Global partners. His knowledge and relationships with our application and technology partners will strengthen our position throughout the industry.”
