FARGODOME to Upgrade Video Experience with Daktronics

Daktronics will design, manufacture and install a total of 14 new LED video displays in and around the FARGODOME in Fargo, North Dakota. Slated for completion this summer, the 12 displays mounted inside the facility will feature SMD LED technology.  A portable display and marquee display round out an installation that combines for more than 8,500 square feet and 8 million LEDs.

unnamed“FARGODOME has had a fantastic relationship with Daktronics for the last 15 years and we are very pleased to continue the relationship for many more years to come,” said FARGODOME General Manager Rob Sobolik. “We appreciate the aggressiveness Daktronics displayed with this project and are looking forward to presenting a great event-day experience for our guests.”

The landmark displays of this installation will be the two large end zone displays, each measuring approximately 29 feet high by 100 feet long. Additionally, four corner displays will each measure 20 feet high by 22 feet wide, two rear displays affixed to the backside of the main displays will each measure 11.5 feet high by 24 feet wide, and four ribbon displays along the seating fascia will each measure 3 feet high by 33 feet wide. All displays will feature 10 millimeter line spacing.

“We’re thankful for the opportunity to provide the FARGODOME with new display technology to enhance an already exceptional live event experience,” said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “This is a dynamic installation featuring a large amount of SMD LED product perfect for their indoor environment. This will add to an amazing game-day environment and we’re looking forward to seeing the completed project for the kickoff of college football in August.”

The larger displays are capable of variable content zoning which allows them each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and game information, animations, and sponsorship messages.

The rear displays will provide information to the fans who are seated in the end zones. The ribbon displays will provide the opportunity to show supplemental content to the main displays and to highlight sponsors throughout events.

A portable display capable of measuring 14.5 feet high by 24 feet wide and featuring a tighter 8 millimeter line spacing will also be included with the project. This display can be moved around and reassembled at various locations inside and outside of the venue depending on the event.

A marquee display measuring more than 9 feet high by 14 feet wide and featuring 15 millimeter line spacing will welcome fans to the FARGODOME as well as promoting current and upcoming events.

American Airlines Center to Add New Marquee Video Displays
Daktronics will continue its partnership with American Airlines Center by designing, manufacturing and installing two new marquee LED displays in Dallas, Texas. Both displays are scheduled to be installed later this summer to be ready to entertain fans during the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars 2016-17 seasons and other special events held at the venue.

“We are pleased to extend our partnership with Daktronics to upgrade the American Airlines Center video marquee,” said Dave Brown, Executive Vice President and General Manager of American Airlines Center. “The new LED technology elevates our marquee to the next level and heightens our branding opportunities to the 280,000 people that drive by the Center weekly.”

The new displays will be installed in the marquee structure off of Interstate 35E in Dallas. They will measure approximately 24 feet high by 20 feet wide and feature a 15HD pixel layout. These displays provide excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while also incorporating industry-leading environmental protection. They will promote current and upcoming events as well as highlighting sponsors associated with the venue or specific events. The displays will also feature the highest brightness capability offered by Daktronics to combat the direct sunlight that will affect the displays.

“We are very excited and honored that Daktronics has been selected again to update the I-35 marquee display at the American Airlines Center,” said Dan Fjeldheim, Daktronics Sales Representative. “Daktronics’ high brightness LED product will allow for great viewing of the displays throughout the day.”
