STATS Named as Ligue de Football Professionnel’s Official Data and Tracking Provider

STATS has been chosen to be the Official Data and Tracking Provider of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), the governing body of professional football in France. The deal will see STATS provide official football data & statistics and live player tracking data captured with the STATS SportVU optical tracking system to the LFP, its professional clubs, and its media and broadcast partners starting with the 2016-17 season. STATS will manage data collection, post-game certification and distribution of the official statistics as the LFP looks to elevate the role of performance data in French football, both in the professional and media markets.

As the Official Data and Tracking Provider, STATS will provide in-depth statistics and digital solutions to the LFP and its media partners. These solutions will include LeagueDatabase, a tool for tracking team and player performance over the course of a season, LiveMonitor, in-depth reports, infographic engine, and a range of statistical widgets available for the clubs. These services will be supported by the STATS EMEA Research & Editorial Team to deliver in-depth information to the LFP’s media partners, enhancing coverage of French football and creating immersive digital experiences for fans.

Tracking data will be delivered to the LFP using STATS SportVU player-tracking technology. STATS SportVU delivers next-generation sports statistics using real-time positioning information, creating sophisticated data streams to provide key performance insights to teams and fans.

The partnership between STATS and the LFP will also see the teams of Ligue 1 receive a range of innovative products and services to support enhanced analysis operations. The 20 Ligue 1 clubs will be given access to the Dynamix athlete monitoring platform, LiveMonitor for in-game analysis, and bespoke fitness reports on demand as well as the SportVU data.
