ESPN Opens Monday Night Football Season With New ‘Heavy Action’ Theme Re-imagined by APM Custom

ESPN’s 2016 Monday Night Football season kicked off on September 12 featuring a new “Heavy Action” theme arranged and recorded by APM Custom, a division of APM Music.

The NFL star-studded opening was filled with Hollywood flare fit for the Rams’ return to Los Angeles, featuring the re-imagined “Heavy Action” theme used throughout the pre-kickoff coverage before the first Monday Night Football doubleheader of the year (Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Washington Redskins and Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers). Fans can look forward to a new Hollywood opening each week during the season.

“Heavy Action” has been priming football buffs for generations and this year it was important to continue with the tradition by presenting the larger-than-life orchestral sound that they have grown to love, combined with grand Hollywood style. APM Custom re-energized this year’s “Heavy Action” with The London Philharmonic at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
