Brocade Helps Mobile-Device–Wielding Sports Fans Connect in Venues

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Brocade as a corporate sponsor. The company’s networking solutions help the world’s leading organizations transition smoothly to a world where applications and information reside anywhere. This vision is designed to deliver key business benefits, such as unmatched simplicity, nonstop networking, application optimization, and investment protection.

WebInnovative Ethernet and storage-networking solutions for data-center, campus, and service-provider networks help reduce complexity and cost while enabling virtualization and cloud computing to increase business agility. To help ensure a complete solution, Brocade partners with world-class IT companies and provides comprehensive education, support, and professional-services offerings.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Brocade’s network handled the data storm caused by throngs of smartphone-wielding fans at Levi’s Stadium, one of the most high-powered venues in sports. The network is built on Brocade’s core routers, switches, and the Brocade Network Advisor for simplified network management. According to the company, the network is composed of multiple network clusters, separating services like WiFi from IPTV, and connected by more than 400 miles of fiber/copper.

For the Sacramento Kings’ new Golden 1 Center, Brocade designed a 160-Gb backbone that can handle more than 500,000 Snapchat posts per second, as well as a Ruckus-designed next-generation WiFi installation with more than 1,000 access points.
