Memphis Grizzlies, Fox Sports Southeast Ink New Long-Term Rights Deal
FOX Sports Southeast and the Memphis Grizzlies have inked a new long-term television rights agreement, which will go into effect with the 2017-18 NBA season. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the new agreement, FOX Sports Southeast will remain the exclusive regional television partner of the Grizzlies and will produce all locally-available regular season games not exclusively selected by a national network. Additionally, the network will televise three preseason games annually and all non-exclusive first round playoff games.
All games televised on FOX Sports Southeast will be available on FOX Sports GO, a free app that provides live streaming video of Grizzlies games and other FOX Sports programming through select programming distributors.
“FOX Sports Southeast has been a terrific partner and we are pleased that our broadcast partnership will continue going forward,” Memphis Grizzlies President of Business Operations Jason Wexler said in the announcement. “The new agreement assures that the Grizzlies will be seen throughout Memphis, the Mid-South region and beyond on FOX Sports Southeast as the regional presence of the Grizzlies keeps growing.”
“Our new agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies will provide more than six million households across seven states the ability to follow the team on FOX Sports Southeast as well as on their mobile devices using the FOX Sports GO app for many years to come,” saidFOX Sports Southeast Senior Vice President and General Manager Jeff Genthner.
During the current NBA season, 77 regular season Grizzlies games will be televised on FOX Sports Southeast. The Grizzlies will continue to have one of the most far-reaching local television footprints with many games reaching across Tennessee and Kentucky, as well as parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi. The Grizzlies tip off their schedule at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight (Oct. 26) exclusively on FOX Sports Southeast and streaming live on FOX Sports GO.
