NAB Show NY: Clear-Com To Demo FreeSpeak II Wireless Base Station, Agent-IC Mobile App for Android
At NAB Show New York 2016, Clear-Com (Booth 1609) will present the FreeSpeak II wireless base station – FreeSpeak II-Base II – that supports multiple frequencies and up to 25 wireless beltpacks across a wide area. This latest addition to the FreeSpeak II digital wireless solution enables coverage, flexibility, and reliability for virtually any production.
Like all FreeSpeak II components, including the recently released FreeSpeak II Splitter, beltpacks and transceiver antennas, FreeSpeak Base II (FSII-BII) integrates seamlessly with Clear-Com’s intercom systems, providing a unified voice communication solution over both wired and wireless networks.
FSII-BII’s distinctive features include:
- Support for up to 25 full-duplex wireless beltpacks, enabling coverage of a large production area with up to 10 distributed-antenna transceivers, and two transceiver splitters spanning up to 65,000 feet from the base station over fibre connection
- Digital signal transmission over 1.9GHz and 2.4GHz frequency bands
- Two built-in optional SFP fibre connectors for enabling either a native single-mode or multi-mode fibre link between base stations and the FreeSpeak II Splitter (FSII-SPL)
- Four built-in two-wire connectors that allow the base station to provide power and connection for up to 20 industry-standard analog wired beltpacks, such as Clear-Com’s RS-700 or other brands
- An intuitive cascade menu and a browser-based Core Configuration Manager (CCM) for system configuration and real-time system changes
“The FreeSpeak II-Base II is a welcome addition to Clear-Com’s award-winning FreeSpeak II wireless intercom system, enabling productions to cover much larger areas while retaining a clear and reliable signal,” said Craig Fredrickson, Product Manager of Clear-Com. “FreeSpeak II is now established as the go-to wireless intercom solution among audio professionals for virtually any production environment, regardless of size.”
Android version of Agent-IC Mobile App
Clear-Com will also present the Android version of Agent-IC – the mobile app that enables remote users of Eclipse HX digital matrix intercom systems to securely connect and communicate with their smart devices including wearables. The Agent-IC app for Android complements the Apple iOS version of Agent-IC, giving users of both mobile platforms remote access to their intercom systems.
“Functionally, Agent-IC is a mobile intercom client panel that can fit in a shirt pocket. It connects users from virtually anywhere in the world on widely-available consumer devices and over IP network infrastructures, without compromising on audio quality,” said Peter Stallard, Senior Product Manager, Clear-Com. “Now, both Android and Apple users can deploy Agent-IC to stay connected.”
Managed under central administration control from the host Eclipse-HX system, Agent-IC provides point-to-point calling, point-to-multi-point group calling, partyline, PTT, local cross-point audio level control, and notification functions. Access to the host Eclipse-HX matrix is secured by using User ID/password and audio encryption.
Agent-IC delivers excellent audio quality on both platforms, based on the G.722 codec. It is accessible via multiple IP networks, and is enhanced by user-selectable optimization to compensate for varying network conditions.
The app’s intuitive and simple user interface on smart phones, tablet devices, and smart watches, makes it easy to use and deploy across remote teams.
Users of Android devices running Android OS version 5.0 and above can download and install the Agent-IC app directly from the Google Play store online. Apple devices running iOS 8.0 or later can install their app from the App Store.
“Agent-IC adds another dimension to the Eclipse-HX system, by extending the system’s reach to provide global, on-demand access,” addedStallard. “Clear-Com already offers a breadth of hardware control key panels, integrated wireless beltpack and IP-based PC client panels; now any authorized iOS and Android smart device user can enjoy the same level of convenience, connection and mobility.”
