NAB Show NY: SGL Targets Entry-Level Archive Market With FlashNet Lite

Content archive and storage management software provider SGL (booth 1219) is highlighting its new entry-level archive solution FlashNet Lite at NAB New York 2016. Providing media companies with a highly cost-effective archive that can expand as their requirements grow, FlashNet Lite includes SGL’s new elegant user interface FlashNet Infinity.

sgl-logoFlashNet Lite comes in four configurations: FL Disk, FL Tape, FL Hybrid and FL Optical Disk, providing options for content storage that is disk only, tape only, optical disk or a combination of disk and tape. FL Hybrid is upgradeable to 50TB of disk support, two tape drives and 100 slots with one server. This gives nearly 600TB capacity with LTO7 tapes. Running on a single server node, FlashNet Lite can grow as the customer’s archive expands. FlashNet Lite includes important FlashNet tools including: integration with a wide range of partner solutions and storage devices; business storage rules; partial file restore; and SGL’s new sophisticated Infinity user interface.

SGL will be highlighting its new FlashNet Infinity user interface throughout NAB New York 2016. Providing broadcasters and content owners with an elegant dashboard that simplifies the management of media archives, Infinity delivers a sophisticated toolset for archive and restore functionality, system health, monitoring, analysis and more. It is available as a free upgrade to all SGL FlashNet users covered by a current support contract who are running FlashNet 6.6 or later.

During the show SGL will also highlight and discuss key FlashNet features including: Support for AXF; support for Sony’s Ci cloud-based service; pre-defined drives for specific archive roles; Avid® Interplay® Web Services plug-in with Partial File Restore powered by Glookast; enhanced API with support for REST Integration; support for DPX Format; and its Amalgamation Service.

“We’re really looking forward to discussing key new FlashNet features with visitors to NAB New York. FlashNet significantly improves and simplifies the archive process, and delivers new solutions that fit the requirements and budget of every media company,” explains Lee Sheppard, SGL’s Director of Product Management.
