NC television station cut audio of parts of Dave Chappelle’s SNL performance
Story Highlights
WCTI12.com reports from AP that a North Carolina television station cut audio of parts of Dave Chappelle’s Saturday Night Live performance to meet the station’s policy on decency and profanity.
WRAL-TV posted a statement on Twitter saying the NBC affiliate had the show on a 10-second delay to avoid broadcasting 10 words the station has decided will not air.
WRAL-TV says Chappelle used two of those words nine times total. Social media posts indicate one word censored was a crude term for a female body part that president-elect Donald Trump was heard using on tape. The other word was a racial epithet.
