FC Dallas Taps Daktronics for New Video Displays

Daktronics has been asked by FC Dallas to design, manufacture, and install two new LED video displays totaling nearly 1,000 square feet each for the northeast and northwest corners of Toyota Stadium in 2017.

“FC Dallas is committed to providing the best fans in MLS and visitors to Toyota Stadium a championship experience,” says FC Dallas President Dan Hunt. “As part of a $40 million investment to renovate Toyota Stadium and bring the National Soccer Hall of Fame Museum to Frisco, we are thrilled that Daktronics’ video boards will be a part of our state-of-the-art facility.”

unnamedEach display measures 18 feet high by 54 feet wide for a total of nearly 800,000 LEDs. The displays feature 13HD pixel layouts, the premier technology for sporting applications with these viewing distances for crisp, clear imagery visible to every seat in the stadium.

The displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing them each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, game scores and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

“We appreciate FC Dallas continuing our relationship for LED technology with this installation,” says Daktronics Sales Representative Dan Fjeldheim. “The new 13HD technology is the benchmark for outdoor applications in the sports industry and we’re excited to provide this product for our professional sports customers including these two new displays at Toyota Stadium. They will undoubtedly enhance the game-day experience and we’re looking forward to seeing their impact firsthand in the coming months.”

Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation for the new display system as well as an upgrade to existing video displays within the venue. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
