SVG College Sports Summit Keynote Conversation to Feature ESPN’s Lee Fitting and Tom Rinaldi
Dynamic duo to discuss the art of storytelling and the legacy of ESPN's College GameDay
In one of the major highlights of this year’s SVG College Sports Summit, Lee Fitting, the longtime senior coordinating producer of ESPN’s College GameDay, will be interviewed by popular ESPN correspondent Tom Rinaldi on the main stage on Thursday, June 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
In addition to sharing their philosophies on the art of storytelling, Fitting and Rinaldi will discuss the rapidly changing media world, the impacts that digital distribution and social media are having on a legacy brand like College GameDay and ESPN, and how GameDay has established itself as a pioneer on new platforms like Snapchat.
Fitting is a 20-year veteran of ESPN production and has long been considered the man behind one of the network’s flagship college studio program, College GameDay. In addition, he is charged with overseeing the strategic direction, staffing and day-to-day planning for College Football Live, College Football Playoff: Top 25 and other college sports-related studio specials and content as well as all college basketball games. During his time with College GameDay, Fitting and his colleagues have earned seven Sports Emmy Awards for Outstanding Studio Show Weekly (2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).
Tom Rinaldi has been a correspondent for ESPN since 2002 and contributes to a wide variety of programs and fills a number of roles at the network. He is a weekly contributor to College Gameday, and serves as a sideline reporter for some of college football’s biggest games, including the Rose Bowl and the national championship. He is known throughout the industry for his spectacular work in features.
