CSN Chicago To Honor White Sox Legend Mark Buehrle With Live Coverage of Mark Buehrle Day

In celebration of Chicago White Sox legend Mark Buehrle being honored by the team with his #56 jersey officially being retired, CSN Chicago will provide fans with expanded, LIVE coverage of “Mark Buehrle Day” from Guaranteed Rate Field, highlighted by the prestigious ceremony on Saturday, June 24, beginning at 12 p.m. CT. on White Sox Pregame Live (hosted by Chuck Garfien and Bill Melton, along with numerous special guests, and on-field reports from Siera Santos). 

The on-field jersey retirement ceremony will be emceed by CSN’s legendary White Sox announcer Ken “Hawk” Harrelson.  The ceremony will be followed by CSN’s live coverage of the White Sox hosting the Oakland Athletics (1:10 PM scheduled game start featuring Jason Benetti and Steve Stone with the game call) with White Sox Postgame Live (hosted by Garfien, Melton, along with 2005 World Series hero Scott Podsednik) immediately following the contest showcasing a complete game recap and highlights from Buehrle’s big day. “Mark Buehrle Day” coverage and all CSN on-air content is also available for live stream viewing on CSNChicago.com/WatchLive or via the NBC Sports app to authenticated CSN Chicago subscribers.

As part of its  Buehrle-themed coverage, CSN will also re-air two of Buehrle’s most memorable performances: his no hitter against Texas from April of 2007(Thursday, June 22 at 3:30 p.m. and to re-air on Friday, June 23 at 11:00 p.m.) as well as his game against Tampa Bay from July of 2009 (Saturday, June 24 at 10:00 a.m.).

Immediately following the White Sox-A’s game on June 24, fans can also look forward to watching an encore presentation of the network’s acclaimed 2005 White Sox World Series documentary Believe (4:30 p.m.), along with an updated edition of Buehrle’s one-on-one interview on CSN’s Inside Look (6:00 p.m.).
