IMG College Licensing Extends Multi-Year Partnership With Virginia Tech, Florida State

IMG College Licensing has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership agreement with Virginia Tech University and Florida State University to continue managing the school’s trademark licensing program. IMG College Licensing began its partnership with Virginia Tech in 2012 and its partnership with FSU in 1982.

“IMG College Licensing provides insight into the licensing marketplace and provides the tools and strategies we need to grow the Virginia Tech brand at retail,” says Melanie Schramm, Virginia Tech’s Director of Marketing. “The IMG College team understands the unique goals and attributes of the University and has become a valuable part of our Virginia Tech team.”

]The University is working with IMG College Licensing to develop a portfolio of best-in-class licensees, including co-branded programs with consumer brand companies such as Yeti and Vera Bradley.Virginia Tech is also utilizing IMG College Licensing’s proprietary reporting systems and global consumer insights to develop marketing and licensing strategies to reach consumers across the country through a variety of retail channels and stores. Officially-licensed product for Virginia Tech is now sold by more than 2,200 unique retail accounts across the country.

Officially-licensed product for FSU is now sold by more than 4,800 unique retail accounts across the country.

IMG College Licensing’s representation of the FSU trademark licensing program will continue to focus on the selection and management of best-in-class licensees to build the University’s brand while increasing sales of officially licensed products. Through its relationship with IMG College Licensing, the University has developed a portfolio of national licensing and co-branded partnerships that include Victoria’s Secret PINK, Dooney & Bourke, Yeti, Star Wars, and others. IMG College Licensing also assisted FSU with its 2014 brand update in conjunction with its sideline partner, Nike, and helped the University create the limited-edition “Bobby Bowden Collection,” honoring its legendary coach.
