IBC 2017: Cobalt to showcase new AUD-PRO

The Cobalt team is excited to introduce its next generation of advanced broadcast audio products at IBC 2017. The new AUD-PRO represents the ultimate in integrated audio processing and encoding and provides the single point of control and monitoring required for today’s most advanced audio delivery requirements.

The AUD-PRO creates an even sound floor that viewers will appreciate, combining tool sets from Linear Acoustic UPMAX stereo to surround sound upmixing, Dolby E/AC-3/E-AC-3 decoding/encoding and RTLL Real-Time Loudness Levelling. Applications include comprehensive broadcast-audio compliance, support for multiple foreign languages, and automatic audio conditioning for production environments.

Built on Cobalt’s 3G/HD/SD-SDI analogue and AES audio embedder/de-embedder openGear platform, the AUD-PRO incorporates powerful FPGA and DSP hardware for accelerated processing of Cobalt’s extensive library of state of the art audio features including FCC 21CVAA compliance text-to-speech synthesis.

The AUD-PRO is highly scalable and provides the ability to add functionality as requirements change. The base embedder/de-embedder can be upgraded in the field via license keys that range from up/down/cross conversion with frame syncing to closed caption detection and error reporting.
