MLB Network Brings Back Statcast-Fueled ‘MLB Now’ Roundtable Format for Cubs-Giants Telecast

MLB Network will produce special afternoon game coverage incorporating a roundtable discussion focused on advanced metrics during today’s Cubs-Giants Presented by MLB Now game (3:30 p.m. ET). In line with the weekday show’s premise of bringing together differing perspectives and looking at baseball trends with advanced metrics, MLB Now host Brian Kenny will lead roundtable game presentation featuring MLB Network analysts Mark DeRosa and Joel Sherman, as well as MLB.com analyst Mike Petriello.
Kenny will balance the panel discussion format with with original play-by-play and in-game interviews. The telecast will also feature in-depth analysis featuring MLBAM’s advanced metrics Statcast and Pitchcast. The game telecast will transition from the studio to the local telecast provided by NBC Sports Bay Area.
The telecast will mark MLB Network’s third effort with the roundtable format, after airing similar formats in both 2015 and 2016.
