ESPN’s New Apple TV App Allows Fans to Watch Up to Four Events At Once

New tvOS MultiCast option arrives just in time for US Open and college football season

ESPN has released a new feature to its Apple TV app that should certainly capture the attention of sports fans, especially with jam-packed Saturdays of college football just around the corner. Within the ESPN APP for Apple TV, ESPN has rolled out what it calls tvOS MultiCast. The new functionality allows for users to stream multiple events (up to four) simultaneously on a single television screen.

The user interface and content set is designed to deliver a multiscreen experience on the at-home television set. MultiCast features five different ways to view up to four live simultaneous streams and users can toggle between audio on each of the feeds and can go full screen on any one of the feeds whenever they desire.

tvOS MultiCast is available to Apple TV users as of today and does require authentication from a cable subscription to be used (that is, until Disney launches it’s new standalone 24/7 ESPN and sports streaming service next year).
