Grabyo Cloud-Based Platform Meets Digital Demands of Live Sports Production

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Grabyo as a corporate sponsor. London-based Grabyo is a global leader in video production, editing, and distribution. Designed with simplicity and speed at its core, the cloud-based platform is built for the demands of live sports and entertainment production, empowering rightsholders and publishers to be first to market content, activate vast digital audiences, and generate complementary new revenue streams.

Since its launch in 2013, Grabyo’s solution has been proven at scale, with the largest rightsholders and TV broadcasters globally — BT Sport, Real Madrid, Chelsea, the Rugby Channel, MLS, beIN Sports, La Liga, the English Premier League, FIA Formula E, and Wimbledon, among others — generating more than 4.2 billion video views.

“Grabyo and our partners have seen rapid and accelerating growth across social and digital this year. Grabyo provides content owners a versatile, digital platform for all their social video editing, distribution and live stream production needs,” says CEO Gareth Capon. “We’re pleased to partner with the Sports Video Group and look forward to working together to enable publishers and rights holders to maximize the value of live and real-time video content.”

Grabyo eliminates the otherwise prohibitive costs of media production and distribution. The company offers two key products: Grabyo Studio and Grabyo Producer. Grabyo Studio allows partners to live-stream and share real-time clips directly to Facebook, Twitter, Periscope, YouTube, Instagram, and owned platforms. Its web-based editor allows partners to edit content optimized for social-media consumption and integrates with both Facebook-branded content and Twitter Amplify, allowing partners to monetize social video straight from the platform. Grabyo Producer allows publishers to create digital-first broadcasts within a web browser and to insert VOD and sponsor assets to drive audience engagement using data, real-time graphics, and social polls.

The AELTC partnered with 19-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer to deliver an exclusive and interactive Facebook Live Q&A during his first practice session ahead of the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. Using Grabyo Social Wall and Grabyo Producer, the digital team at AELTC was able to moderate and overlay comments in real time, allowing Federer to answer actual live questions from viewers, delivering an authentic fan-centric experience in the buildup to the tournament.

By partnering with Grabyo, the AELTC was able to create a unique, social-first broadcast increasing the engagement and interaction ahead of the tournament, extending its content lifespan.

As more rightsholders and broadcasters look to social media to generate revenue, Grabyo allows partners to monetize video content in real time, adding branded assets and sponsored overlays to in-play highlights, VOD, and archival assets. On Twitter, Grabyo enables monetization through either Open or Custom Amplify campaigns and integration directly with existing publisher-advertiser deals created through Twitter Ads dashboard. Through Studio, partners can leverage Open Amplify to monetize video content without the need for any existing publisher-advertiser arrangement and Custom Amplify to sign advertising deals with individual brands or sponsors enabling them to add prerolls to video clips — all with a few simple clicks.
