IBC 2017: Object Matrix, Spectra Logic launch integrated storage solution

Object Matrix and Spectra Logic have integrated a holistic storage solution across multiple storage tiers, while still ensuring the security and integrity of the content within storage. The joint solution combines Object Matrix’s Digital Content Governance Platform, MatrixStore, with the Spectra BlackPearl Converged Storage System. Object Matrix’s MatrixStore ensures organizations have access to their content immediately as required and without delay. 

Not only is content more easily accessed, but it is also more secure and protected within this platform. By providing automated and integrated business continuity functionality, users are able to continue managing content even in the case of an outage. The Spectra Logic BlackPearl acts as an object storage gateway to storage. It enables the use of RESTful interfaces to manage large amounts of data on multiple storage domains including online and nearline disk, LTFS tape, as well as public cloud.

The integrated solution uses the MatrixStore and BlackPearl APIs to achieve automated archive from the MatrixStore Nearline through to BlackPearl. A strength of the solution is that when this archive action occurs a searchable stub is left behind in MatrixStore. User-selected storage policies will be automatically enforced by the solution. According to your business needs, assets can also be deleted, restored, or copied to another folder. Assets and proxies can also be searched, viewed and shared via the MatrixStore Vision browser interface.
