Real Salt Lake Adds Daktronics LED Displays to Training Facilities

Real Salt Lake has continued a long-standing relationship with Daktronics for new LED displays at their facilities in Salt Lake City, Utah. Zions Bank Real Academy (ZBRA), a Herriman-based facility housing daily training activities for multiple soccer teams including Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs, will be receiving two large displays as well as a pitch perimeter display at the facility.
In addition, Real Salt Lake has added six additional displays outside of their facility on State Street. Altogether, the displays bring a total 2,600 square feet of digital display space. The first displays were installed this past spring and the final display will finish being installed this fall.

“Daktronics manufactures a great product and their people have always been phenomenal to work with, which is why we are pleased to once again be partnering with them,” says Craig Martin, general manager and VP of stadium operations. “Brightening up Rio Tinto Stadium’s frontage with six of their new 6-millimeter exterior displays will add to the stadium’s overall dynamic, while also allowing us to provide incremental inventory for our corporate partners.

“In terms of the new state-of-the-art Zions Bank Real Academy, we chose various display types and sizes to complement the facility. Our patrons will see all of these very prominently whether they’re inside the 210,000-square-foot indoor field house or in the new Zions Bank Stadium, home of the Real Monarchs.”

ZBRA is bringing a big fan experience to events held at Zions Bank Stadium, home of the Real Monarchs. Two new LED displays featuring 13HD pixel layouts were installed in the spring of 2017. The main video display measures 13 feet high x 48 feet wide and a pitch perimeter display measures 2.5 feet high x 360 feet wide stretching along the boundaries of the field.

Additionally, at the indoor field house at ZBRA, an LED video display and scoring equipment will be installed this fall. The display will measure 19.5 feet high x 34.5 feet wide and will feature 15-millimeter line spacing while the three fixed-digit scoreboards will each measure 5 feet high x 10 feet wide.

“We’re excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Real Salt Lake to provide new displays for the Zions Bank Real Academy,” says Robin Hall, Daktronics regional sales manager. “This is an amazing facility that will bring an awesome personal experience to fans for the events. We’re looking forward to a wonderful LED presentation.”

Outside Real Salt Lake’s Rio Tinto Stadium, six new displays featuring 6-millimeter line spacing were installed this summer to bring additional awareness to upcoming events and sponsor messages. Four of these displays measure 7 feet high x 9.5 feet wide while two displays measure 6 feet high x 9.5 feet wide.

The main displays at the training facility are capable of variable content zoning to show one large image or multiple zones of live video, instant replays, scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages. Venus Control Suite was included for these systems to help schedule and report content that ran on the displays.
