NFL Media Names HBO Sports/GoPro-Vet Bill McCullough as VP, Creative Director
Bill McCullough has been named Vice President, Creative Director for NFL Media. In this newly created position, the 11-time Emmy winner will lead the Marketing Creative Services team that oversees advertising, on-air promotions, graphics, digital/social promotion marketing and brand strategy for the NFL Media group. He will be charged with developing brand strategies, driving ratings and hitting marketing KPIs for the NFL Media group and its properties, including Thursday Night Football and NFL Media O&O properties across NFL Network, NFL Digital and NFL Films.

Prior to joining the NFL, McCullough served as Vice President of HBO Sports and Executive Producer of GoPro Entertainment, where he earned a reputation for developing and producing high quality, award-winning content such as the eight-part Facebook series Hala Madrid. McCullough also directed Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel and won his latest Emmy for Outstanding Sports Anthology in 2014. McCullough made a name for himself by rebranding HBO Sports and its franchises, including World Championship Boxing, 24/7, The Fight Game and Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. He also was part of the marketing team on campaigns for Six Feet Under, Angels in America, Sex and the City and The Sopranos.
Additionally, McCullough ran own production company Wonderland Productions, one of the first full-service production companies in New York City to deliver projects from concept to completion. McCullough and his team at Wonderland attracted clients such asAssault in the Ring (HBO), Sidelines (ESPN), Untold (SpikeTV) and more. The production company led by McCullough also branded content for McDonald’s, Pepsi, Land Rover, Unilever and Jaguar.
McCullough started his career in 1991 at QVC as a production assistant, where he rose through the ranks to become a director of the live broadcasts, and ultimately accepted a position as Senior Director with SportsChannel NY’s sister network, NewSport.
A graduate from Susquehanna University with a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies in 1991, McCullough was also a member of the Susquehanna Football Team and manager of WQSU radio station.
