IMT Vislink’s John Payne IV Wins NewBay’s Industry Innovator Award

John Payne IV, President of IMT USA, has been name a recipient of NewBay’s 2017 Industry Innovator Awards, presented by TV Technology. Payne was recognized for spearheading the launch of newsnet, IMT Vislink’s innovative high-speed bidirectional multi-user IP-based ENG (Electronic News Gathering) network solution.

Newsnet is an alternative IP-centric technology that goes beyond cellular approaches to deliver a complete technological ecosystem. It increases the number of live ENG transmissions and workflows that can be performed from the field, allowing for higher production values, lower operational costs and enhanced workflow efficiency. Significantly, newsnet improves channel resilience by leveraging secure, BAS-licensed spectrum and the dynamic allocation of bandwidth to the most important transmissions.

NewBay’s Industry Innovator Award winners are selected by a panel of experts and evaluated on their professional achievements, technical and business innovations and continuing influence within their industries. John will be featured in TV Technology, read by thousands of broadcast professionals in the United States, around the world and online.

“It’s a pleasure to honor those who make such a difference in their industries— innovating in technology and business while also inspiring others,” says Eric Trabb, NewBay Broadcast & Video Group Vice President & Group Publisher. “The awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the people behind the companies and technologies on which our industries depend. We offer a heartfelt ‘thank you’ for their contributions, and wish them continued success.”

“It is an honor to receive this award from NewBay, and I’m thankful for the collaboration and dedication of the IMT Vislink team for the successful launch of the newsnet system,” says Payne. “We have a company-wide commitment to bring to market innovations that positively impact the broadcasting industry, and newsnet is one of the most exciting developments I have been part of over my career.”
