Clear-Com Brings IP Capabilities to Live-Performance Partyline Users With LQ Series Update

Clear-Com, known for their wired, wireless and IP communications solutions, has announced a firmware update to all LQ Series Interfaces, which brings IP capabilities to analog and digital partyline users in live performance settings. As a brand-agnostic interface platform, LQ connects, extends and expands industry-standard 2-wire and 4-wire intercom systems over IP networks. Plus, LQ is now capable of allowing VoIP telephones and Clear-Com Agent-IC mobile app users to connect with any traditional intercom systems.

Agent-IC+LQ

Connection to Agent-IC
Due to showcase at LDI 2017 in Las Vegas, the newly-improved LQ Series leverages the internet’s global reach to connect intercom and audio to remote users who are running Clear-Com’s Agent-IC mobile client app on their iOS or Android smart telephones and tablets. Any core production user on the main intercom system can instantly connect with contributors on Clear-Com’s Agent-IC mobile app for monitoring the intercom, whether within the venue or at any other location. The Agent-IC app is available for free download at the iTunes Store and Google Play, and licensed on the LQ devices.

Each LQ Series IP interface can support up to eight individual Agent-IC clients; meaning that up to eight users can call into the intercom system through 3G/4G or Wi-Fi internet links. Up to 48 channels of LQ Series IP interfaces can be connected to a particular Clear-Com partyline intercom system at any given time.

Extension to VoIP Telephony
The same LQ Series IP interfaces can also support connections to VoIP telephony via SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). This allows intercom users to cost-effectively call IP phone users with a single push of a button, and vice versa.

“The combination of Clear-Com’s partyline intercoms, LQ Series IP interfaces and Agent-IC apps, makes it possible for any live performance to extend full-duplex communications quickly and affordably,” says Stephen Sandford, Product Manager, Clear-Com. “At a time when budgets are tight and more production members are required to be on the comms, the LQ Series of IP interfaces is a welcome intercom connectivity solution for live performances everywhere.”

Clear-Com’s LQ Series of IP interfaces will be on display at LDI 2017 at the Las Vegas Convention Center on booth# 1122.
