NBC Brings Back SkyCam as Play-by-Play Cam for TNF’s Broncos-Colts Matchup

NBC will again utilize its SkyCam system to present the primary-viewing angle for its coverage of Thursday Night Football on Thursday, December 14 (Denver at Indianapolis). Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. ET with Football Night in Indianapolis on NBC. NBC utilized SkyCam as the primary viewing angle for the first time for the November 16 Thursday Night Football telecast of Titans-Steelers, after previously being forced to use it during the fog-covered Falcons-Patriots Sunday Night Football game in Week 7

NBC Sports first used its SkyCam system as the primary game camera throughout the foggy second half of Falcons-Patriots in Foxborough, MA.

“With the experience of a full-game telecast with SkyCam and nearly a month to plan and tweak, we are excited to bring back the SkyCam presentation for the Broncos-Colts game,” says Fred Gaudelli, Executive Producer of NBC Sunday Night Football and Thursday Night FootballDrew Esocoff is director of SNF and TNF and Rob Hyland is coordinating producer of Thursday Night Football.

NBC’s “dual” SkyCam coverage received widespread acclaim from viewers when it was pressed into action due to fog during NBC Sunday Night Football in Week 7. In that game, the Falcons-Patriots Super Bowl LI rematch on October 22, fog rolled into Gillette Stadium late in the first half. After halftime, SkyCam technology provided the best camera angles to offer consistent and clear views of the live action.

SkyCam was also used early in the third quarter of the Nov. 5 Sunday Night Football game (Raiders at Dolphins) as residual smoke from halftime fireworks obscured the traditional camera angles.

Thursday Night Football will also be televised by NFL Network, and streamed live on Amazon Prime Video, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, NFL Mobile from Verizon, Watch NFL Network, the NFL app on Microsoft, and NFL Game Pass (International).
