Great Lakes Valley Conference Will Host Educational GLVC Sports Network Open House at NCAA Convention

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) will be hosting a GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) Open House on January 18, in conjunction with the 2018 NCAA Convention in Indianapolis.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET in Suite 120 of Pan Am Tower (201 S. Capitol Ave.), located directly across the street from the Indiana Convention Center.

The GLVCSN Open House is free to all Conference commissioners, league office personnel, and athletics directors from across the country.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about streaming, creating and branding a conference-wide network, equipment needs, production setup, student engagement, and emerging technology.

GLVCSN will display three production exhibits with equipment solutions for a one-, two- and four-camera operation.  Also on display will be GLVCSN’s drone and point-of-view camera, accompanied by footage from those cameras at GLVC Championship events this past fall.  Information on GLVCSN Extra Credit – the league’s student initiative – will also be made available.  In addition, exhibits will feature GLVCSN’s over-the-top (OTT) platforms on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV, as well as its iOS and Android mobile apps.

At 11:30 a.m. ET, GLVC Associate Commissioner Jeff Smith will engage attendees in a 30-minute discussion on streaming at both the conference office and campus levels, as well as reviewing the recent NCAA Division II Preliminary Round Video Streaming Requirements memo that was recently disseminated by the national office.

Refreshments will be made available throughout the event with lunch provided at 12 p.m. ET.  To RSVP for the lunch, click here.
