Ross Video’s Newt Wins TV Technology Innovation Award

Ross Video has announced that Newt, the company’s point-of-use UHD/IP signal converter (launched earlier this year at the NAB New York event), has just been named as a winner of TV Technology’s Product Innovation Awards.

Commenting on the award, Nestor Amaya, Director of Product Management for IP and Infrastructure at Ross Video is proud of the rapid development of the Software Defined Production family to which Newt belongs. “Software Defined Production (SDP) enables content creators to implement adaptable broadcast workflows using equipment that can be pooled and repurposed with agility and scale, using whatever transport best meets their needs: IP and/or SDI. Everything we’ve launched under the SDP banner supports our customers’ need to enhance their production agility using fewer boxes that can be flexibly shared and defined via licensable software, and our product portfolio is rapidly adapting meet this vision: we launched Newt in October and quickly followed it with the Gator product line at Inter BEE, and we will unveil a further SDP product at the CABSAT Expo in Dubai next month. SDP pragmatically focuses on our customers’ creative, operational and business challenges. Winning this award is therefore a great honour for us; it reinforces the fact that Ross always acts in our customers’ best interests and is not afraid to question conventional wisdom.”
